Zinc-plated steel fittings are stronger and more durable than other metal fittings. They have fair corrosion resistance, so they should be used primarily in dry environments. Bronze fittings have better corrosion resistance and are stronger than brass and aluminum fittings. Aluminum fittings are lighter in weight than other metal fittings. They have good corrosion resistance. 304 stainless steel fittings have very good corrosion resistance, so they’re the best choice for high-humidity environments.
